Kiya

Meet Kiya, a brave and protective donkey who, along with her sister Shira, went through a traumatic past. Rescued by a compassionate couple, Kiya and Shira were saved from being sold for slaughter along with the rest of their herd. Sadly, the whole herd could not be saved, and Kiya and Shira were forced to witness their family being taken away, never to be seen again.

The sisters spent weeks calling for their family and were incredibly stressed when they arrived at Ashers Farm Sanctuary. It took time, but they gradually began to settle in. Kiya is very protective of Shira, always looking out for her, and though she remains untrusting of humans, she now has a safe and peaceful life at the sanctuary.

Kiya and Shira are now part of their own herd with Mr. T, where they live happily together.
